whileとduringの使い分け

duringは後ろに名詞などの句が続きます。during the day（日中）、during my summer vacation（夏休み中）という具合です。一方、whileは文や節（つまり主語＋動詞があるもの）を続けて、while I was sleeping（私が眠 っていた間に）、while my mother was out（母が外出していた間に）のように表します。
