This is a quote (2 ) the prologue of the “Heike Monogatari” (The Tale of Heike), a work that recounts the rise and fall (3 ) the Heike clan.
これは平家の台頭と没落を描いた「平家物語」のプロローグを引用したものです。
Though the Heike samurai clan achieved incredible success, (4 ) just 30 years they were completely ruined.
平家(武家)は栄華を極めましたが、30年たらずで滅びてしまいました。
Taira no Kiyomori was the leader (5 ) the Heike clan.
平清盛は、平家のリーダーでした。
Born (6 ) a family that dwelled by the sea, Kiyomori, who was later dubbed Dai Akunin (the great devil), was rumored to be the illegitimate child (7 ) the Emperor and as such, from an early age was singled (8 ) for promotion.
海に生きる一族に生まれ、後に大悪人とされた清盛は天皇の隠し子ともいわれ、そのためか若いうちから異例の出世をします。

Kiyomori got angry and launched a coup d’etat, forcing GoShirakawa (25 ) power. He assumed power himself.
清盛は怒りクーデターを起こし、逆に後白河の院政をやめさせ、自らを最高権力者とみなしました。
It was the first time in history that a samurai was (26 ) power.
